Tips for Completing Mafia II - Chapter 14: Stairway to Heaven #1

Get up and answer the phone to find out that Joe has a job for both of you, and this will allow you to earn at least some of the money you need to pay off the debt. Get dressed and leave the apartment. Joe will be waiting for you near the garages.

REACHING OAK STREET IN GRINFELD:

Get into Joe's new car (Smith Thunderbolt) and drive carefully out of here. It is very important that you do not damage the car on the way to your current destination, because you will need a perfect condition soon. If you have an accident, you can visit the workshop. I would not recommend doing this because you will need a lot of money later during the chapter. Turn onto Oak Street when you are near the finish line and drive towards one of the houses where you will see a very interesting scene involving an old friend.

TAKE OUT THE FED AND THE POLICE:

Get ready, because the chase is about to begin, and the feds will use a very fast car to stay on your tail. It would be a good idea to use the sidewalk to lose them, because there's a chance they'll crash into a pole and stop completely, or at least waste valuable time trying to catch up with you again.

If you've already lost the chase, you'll soon notice a workshop to your right (also in Greenfield), and you should definitely use it. If you have other cars on your tail, you should continue heading east. Using the freeway would be a good idea, and you could drive to a workshop located near Joe's house.

It doesn't matter which path you choose, because the only thing that matters is stopping the chase. Lose the desired status by repainting the car or changing the license plate. Joe will soon ask you to take him to the Kingston area. Do it right now, ignoring the fact that you both wanted to (only your car is "clean"). Leave it near the garages in Kingston #2.

Driving to Derek to get a job:

Now you need to visit one of the nearest clothing stores to lose your desired status on Vito. Make sure to park the car next to the store and leave the car, making sure that there are no police units nearby. After buying new clothes, you can start moving towards the docks located in the southern part of the city. Park the car outside Derek's office and go up the stairs. Derek will be working as a bodyguard on a mission to scare away some protesting workers.
